Oops

This morning Alice and I had a calm morning, other than my manic cleaning as Craig's Mum was supposed to come over. She had to cancel last minute as she unexpectedly got handy men turn up to fix a hole in her roof. So we have rescheduled for her to come over tomorrow.

So Alice and I just ended up watching Dora the Explorer on the couch for the majority of the morning. It was lovely just to relax and cuddle up and not do much at all.

Whilst Alice was down for her nap I decided to play around with my December Daily and I think I've finally got an idea of how I'd like it all to look. I've only managed the first 3 days though so I think my December Daily album may only appear in the blog in the New Year I'm afraid!

After Alice's nap my Mum came over and we went over to hers after a few house stops so that she could post some Christmas cards to her friends. We were incredibly impressed that when we pulled up outside Mary's, our hairdresser, Alice could tell us that we were at Mary's house.

We got to my Mum's house and would you believe that I completely forgot my camera!! This is the first day where I haven't taken any photos with my camera so I took them on my iPod with the Instagram app. I only have 3 photos from the whole of today and unfortunately my iPod takes quite poor quality pictures, but at the end of the day as long as I have pictures it doesn't matter too much. But I shall apologise for the poor quality of them right now!

My Mum bought me some stamps and we got to writing addresses and finally getting all of our Christmas cards posted! Thank goodness, as tomorrow is the last day to post cards 1st class for Christmas!

As you can clearly see this girl is so up on her technology, she doesn't need anyone around to be able to work out Grandma's iPad! She just sits and either plays games or, as she is, watches kids programs on Netflix. This was after she finally settled down as she constantly wants her Grandma's attention whilst we go over and just bursts into tears, as she knows Grandma will feel bad and do anything to make sure she is happy.

She also had a lot of fun taking off all the ornaments on Grandma's tree. She just seems fascinated by them all! I really think in the January sales I'm going to buy some more ornaments so that our Christmas tree doesn't look as bare as it has done the last two years!

We did some colouring whilst Grandma and Auntie Em went out to get some bits from the shop for a Secret Santa present.

And after dinner Alice wanted Grandma to read lots of different book. This one was her particular favourite Everyone Hide From Wibbly Pig by Mick Inkpen. She loves getting to look under the flaps to see who is hiding.

6 days until Christmas now! Everyone excited? I know I am :)

Pizza Night

Today has been a particularly wet and dreary day so I decided early on we would have a day indoors, Alice still isn't 100% so keeping her indoors isn't such a bad idea at the moment.

Whilst Alice went off for a nap I spent my time getting the last bits of the bills and direct debits sorted and finishing anything left off from our flat. Luckily all these calls haven't raised my phone bill through the roof, I have a habit of checking it after every phone call! But I am glad to say that they are all sorted now and they are all out of the way now. Christmas can finally be enjoyed properly without the weight of knowing I needed this all to be done!

After Alice woke up from her nap she has started to want to play in her room for a bit but today we stayed up to play in there for over an hour. I think she is starting to feel that little bit more comfortable in her new room! She loves playing with the towering blocks and we count as we stack them all up, but I think her favourite bit, as I think is the same with most kids, is knocking them all over!

Next we had to go through all of her books to decide which one we should read, eventually she found a little Finding Nemo book which we had to read countless amounts of times! Luckily it's only a very short book so it wasn't too bad.

We have been getting Christmas cards through our door so I decided I should put them up. Only a little collection so far but still worthy enough to show off :) I absolutely love getting Christmas cards through the door.

I found this picture on my camera as I was uploading the pictures. Someone must have gotten a hold of my camera whilst I was out of the room but it's not a bad one of her feet, even with the finger or thumb going across the lens ;)

I thought I would make a start on my Christmas decorations book and see how they turned out. I was quite impressed with my snowflake and woven hearts.

And then little miss found the snowflake and it didn't last very long :( That will teach me for leaving pieces of paper on the floor whilst she is around!

After Alice went down for bed I had my friends, Sam and Abbi, over for some Domino's pizza and a good ol' catch up. I don't really get to see Abbi an awful lot but as soon as we are back in the same room it's pretty much just like old times. I have been friends with these two for about 8 years and it's lovely when we do manage to all get together. Sam and I meet up a lot more but when Abbi can join us it's just like we are back at school :)

Hope you've all had a great day.

1st December

Today we woke up for the first time in our new house after moving in yesterday. One of the first things we did was open up our Advent Calendars. Alice wasn't keen on her Advent Calendar until I told her that there was chocolate inside it and then she was all for it, she even tried to pinch the chocolate from mine!

We had a rather uneventful morning, she went down for a nap and shortly after my Mum and sister turned up to drop off some more things from our flat and we had a short chat before they headed back out to go into town before going to see Jason Mraz at the O2 centre tonight.

Once Alice had woken from her nap again we had some lunch and then ate some gingerbread Christmas trees that I had forgotten that I had bought for us to have.

I went onto my laptop to show Alice the CBeebies website which now has an Advent Calendar on so that we can get a little online treat everyday as well. She watched the clip for today's window but seemed more interested in dressing up the Snowman that appears in the corner.

Once I'd let her play around for a bit we had to go out so that I could get some bits from Robert Dyas for the house that we didn't have, i.e. a plunger, toilet brush etc. Nothing exciting unfortunately. So as a treat we went to Waterstones, where I work, so that Alice could go and look at the Children's section and possibly pick out a new book. My friend, Rachele, was working and Alice just decided to follow her around for the majority of our time there. We did end up getting a new book though called Fancy Dress Christmas by Nick Sharratt.

Once we had finished in town we headed home and Alice decided we should watch Charlotte's Web for about the fifth time today, she seriously loves the pig and the spider!

We then had a rather chilled out evening. I normally try to get Alice down for a sleep at 7pm but as we've moved I decided I'd wait until she goes to sleep before putting her in bed. Unfortunately our new neighbour likes to play their rock music rather loud and Alice wasn't settling so she played with her Fischer Price Farm until about 8pm when the music finally stopped and she could finally get some sleep and I could watch X Factor without any hassles :)
